As part of our ongoing effort to ensure dependable service to our customers, MSD Project Clear is proactively designing a project to replace approximately 13,900 feet of wastewater sewers in the City of Chesterfield. This project is estimated to begin construction in early 2026.
MSD Project Clear is investing approximately $19 million to improve the wastewater sewers in the City of Chesterfield. The goal is to replace the degraded Spirit 2 Force Main pipe with a new pipe, identical in size to the existing force main to renew the usable life of the force main.
Construction is estimated to begin as early as 2026.
MSD Project Clear will replace approximately 13,900 feet of wastewater pipe in addition to abandoning approximately 37,550 feet of old force main in Chesterfield and Maryland Heights.
Though construction for this project is not estimated to begin until early 2026, it is important to be prepared for what to expect. While much of the construction will take place in existing easements and street rights-of-way, MSD may need to obtain new easements from some property owners. Prior to construction, rate payers whose property will need to be accessed to construct the project will be contacted to obtain the necessary easements or to be notified of work that will take place in existing easements.
This is the current tentative project schedule. This is subject to change based on a variety of factors including weather.
